Lovely Celtic Cross

Beautiful Celtic Cross
Today I was blessed to find this cross. JoAnn has taken to walking in a local cemetery and enjoying the peace and tranquility. She asked me to join her there on her walk, and she took me over to a grassy knoll where this cross has stood since 1934. Two Friars are buried on the knoll, and their friends erected this cross in their memory. Beautiful work on the cement cross, and the circle in the middle includes a 'Christogram' (ihs) which stands for the name of Jesus Christ in Greek.
Such a beautiful November day, and a beautiful spot and memorial.

Season of Contentment at Home

GRATITUDE
unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough,
and more.....
It can turn a meal into a
feast, a house into a home,
a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense
of our past, brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow.

NOVEMBER

is the pearl-grey month,
the changeling between warm, crimson,
October
and cold, white
December.

The month when the leaves fall
in slow drifting whirls
and the shapes of the trees are revealed.

When the earth imperceptibly wakes
and stretches her bare limbs
and displays her
stubborn, unconquerable strength
before
she settles uneasily into winter.

November is secret and silent.Alison Uttley

Time For a Visit

Great Papa and Grammy finally got to see Maggie May in person! What fun to hold her!!

She slept in her swing all afternoon, and really loves the gentle music that goes along with the rocking motion. She also was so sleepy the next day she slept in her little bed.

We brought a blanket I made as a gift, and Mama promptly laid down with it for a nap while we were available to watch baby.

She truly is a beautiful baby girl. Just look at all that hair.

She is stretching here, and I wanted to get a photo of her neck, because you don't get to see that very often.

One very happy family we were so glad to visit!

Introducing Maggie May!

This is Kory, right after she agreed to have an epidural.
After almost 24 hours of labor, she is ready to push.

And this little girl made her way out into the world.
Kory, Sam and Maggie!

New grandma Joy and new daddy Sam take their turns getting introduced to Maggie.
Such tiny feet! It never fails to suprise me.
She made soft little cooing noises for the longest time...but then decided to try out crying.
Kory and Maggie snuggled skin to skin for a couple of hours before they took her to clean her up and weigh her. She weighed 8 lbs even, and was 20 inches long.

And finally a snooze after all that exhausting business was over.

About to be a New Great Grammy!

Well, it's been since December that I have posted on this blog of ours. And now it's March...but I have some big news today.
Our granddaughter Kory has gone into labor, and is in the hospital waiting to give birth to our first great granddaughter. Our daughter Joy has arrived, and now the waiting continues as baby girl makes her way out into this big, wide world.
Above is a photo of Kory at her baby shower a few weeks ago, and the other is a photo of baby bump.  Such a cute pregnant lady, teacher, momma-to-be, wife, daughter and granddaughter!
More photos to come......
