Glorious Spring

I know it is June 8th by the calendar, but it is finally Spring, wonderful Spring here in Central Oregon. We are outside every minute possible to enjoy God's bounty.

"Oh, give us pleasures in the flowers today,

and give us not to think so far away
as the uncertain harvest; keep us here

all simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,

like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;

And make us happy in the happy bees,

The swarm dilating around the perfect trees.

For this is love, and nothing else is love

To which it is reserved to God above.

To sanctify to what far ends He will,

But which it only needs that we fulfill."

A PRAYER IN SPRING

by Robert Frost

Like the poem states, this tree is like nothing else by day, and like a ghost by night. It actually glows white in the dark...I went out and checked it. Of course it was the moon's beams that were reflecting off of it, but what a sight and what smells. The air is drenched with crab apple sweetness here in our yard. Glorious Spring. God was so good to covenant with us that as long as the earth endures there shall be springtime and harvest.

There just isn't anything quite like a tree dripping in blossoms and the fragrance they bring, and the Creator who created every bit of it. And a good poem to capture it all.

Thanks Jennie.
